Latonia Francine Jones was born on November 18, 1968, in Baltimore, Maryland to parents Howard and Frances Jones. The third of three children, Latonia attended Baltimore City Public Schools where she excelled in academics earning positioning in the highest levels of academic achievement at Baltimore City College, where she graduated as salutatorian of the class of 1986.
Latonia’s hard work and achievement was recognized and she was awarded a full scholarship to Saint Mary’s College of Maryland where she was on the Dean's List and excelled as an economics major. She graduated from Saint Mary’s College in 1990.
Upon graduation from college, Latonia was employed by Monumental Life Insurance Company and later by the Maryland Department of Disability Determination Services. She was a warm and compassionate person who conveyed that warmth and compassion in her social work position there.
Latonia was a Christian who loved the Lord. She was baptized by Reverend Allen Jones at New Saint Mark Baptist Church in Baltimore, where she was a member.
Latonia enjoyed music of all types, enjoyed time with family and friends and loved attending music concerts and traveling.
She is very much loved and will be sorely missed by all.
Latonia leaves behind her Father and Mother, Howard Sr. and Frances Jones; brothers, Howard Jr. and Clifton and a sister-in-law, Rebeca Jones, all of Baltimore. She also leaves behind an uncle, James Carter of Liverpool New York; two aunts, Bertie Jones and Louella Laboo of Baltimore and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
