Julia Viola “Sadie” Bowie
Julia V. Bowie, better known as “Sadie”, was born in Anne Arundel County, Maryland on March 12, 1926. She was 12th of 13 children born to Jacob and Annie Miles. Julia departed this earthly life on December 2, 2020 at St. Agnes Hospital. Thus, reuniting with her late husband, Oden Bowie.
Sadie received a formal education through the Anne Arundel County Public School System. More important than that, Sadie was raised in a Christian home. She carried these Christian trainings and beliefs throughout her entire life, having accepted Jesus Christ as he Lord and Savior at a very young age. Sadie truly loved the Lord. As a result of her Love and devotion, Sadie became a Minister. She loved to preach the word of God. One thing she made clear, before a person would leave her presence, they would know that she was saved and that they needed to be saved too!
Sadie held many jobs throughout her life, but her most rewarding job was being a foster mother and a daycare provider. She provided love, guidance and a caring heart to so many children throughout the years. Sadie enjoyed crocheting and to dress. She provided clothing for loved ones and strangers alike. But more than anything, she loved her family. She will be sorely missed.
Take comfort in knowing that Julia Viola “Sadie” Bowie is rejoicing with her family waiting in glory who preceded her: Andrew; Jake, Jr; Flint; Marvin; Sandy; AB; Howard and Moses along with 3 sisters; Anna Belle; Mattie Sue; and Mamie. Additionally, 2 grandchildren, Triffilis “Kim” Brooks and Hilton “Eddie” Brooks.
Sadie lived a beautiful life. It is because of her warm, loving and caring spirit that she leaves behind so many to treasure her memories. Her son and daughter-in-law Wilbert and Georgia Brooks; One sister, Mary “Darlene” Burley, two special sons, Damon “Robert” St Thomas and Durrell St Thomas. One special niece, Violet Williams; grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren and even great great great grandchildren (6 generations in her lifetime), and host of niece, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
