IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Michelle
Young
May 11, 1957 – September 26, 2025
Michelle Young, 68, of Glen Burnie, MD, passed away on September 26, 2025, after a brief illness.
Michelle was born on May 11, 1957, in Baltimore, MD. She was blessed to have two mothers in her life: her beloved birth mother, Esther Day, and her devoted aunt, Catherine Brown. Michelle grew up in a home filled with warmth, laughter, and unconditional love, guided by Catherine and Robert H. Brown, Sr.
As a military child, Michelle experienced life in many corners of the United States, each new home adding to the tapestry of memories she cherished. She graduated from Long Branch High School in 1976, carrying with her the resilience and kindness she was known for. Throughout her life, she devoted herself wholeheartedly to roles at Monmouth Medical Center, Lockheed Martin, and Walmart, touching countless lives with her dedication and gentle spirit.
Upon returning to Maryland, Michelle found a true sanctuary at Community Baptist Church, where her faith blossomed and her spirit found peace. She poured her heart into every aspect of church life—serving warmly as a member of the Usher Board, lending her beautiful voice to the Choir that lifted souls, and faithfully attending Bible study, her presence a comforting and constant reminder of dedication and love. Michelle's unwavering commitment and gentle spirit left an indelible mark on her church family, creating memories that will be cherished forever.
Michelle's creative soul shone through her passion for arts and crafts. Each personalized blanket she made was more than a keepsake, it was a heartfelt embrace, a symbol of her enduring love for those around her. Her generosity extended beyond her family as she volunteered at the local Center, eagerly sharing her gifts and lighting up the lives of everyone she met. Michelle found joy in preparing comforting meals, always ready to nourish both body and soul.
Not only did she touch the hearts of those in her immediate community, but Michelle's generosity and love reached far beyond borders. Through her meticulous craftsmanship, she made handmade dresses for young girls in Africa, supporting First Mount Olive Baptist of Leesburg, VA, and providing not only clothing but also a meaningful contribution. The joy and hope she brought still linger, as those dresses remain cherished and are fondly remembered by many to this day. Her compassion wove connections across oceans, leaving a legacy of warmth and caring that continues to inspire.
Michelle was preceded in death by her cherished parents, Esther Day, Stephen Ward, and Catherine and Robert Brown. Her legacy lives on in her daughter, Katrina Nastasi, her three sons, Riley Young (Amarilys), Stephen Young, and Calvin Diggs, and her four adored grandchildren: Arianna Young, Amari Young, Kayla Nastasi, and Kaitlyn Nastasi. She also leaves behind her three loving brothers, Ricky Young, Robert H. Brown, Jr. (Rhonda), and Mark Brown; her four devoted sisters, Frances Young, Lora (Howard) Crews, Maenell (Steve) Barnett, and Teresa Brown; and a large, loving family of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. Michelle's radiant spirit will be deeply missed by the many relatives and friends whose lives she brightened, and her memory will remain a source of comfort and inspiration to all who knew her.
