IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Michele
Redding-El
January 9, 1954 – August 29, 2017
Michele Redding-El, "Sissy", was born on January 9, 1954 in Baltimore, Maryland to the late Viola Elizabeth Clay. Michele was born and raised in Baltimore City where she was educated through Baltimore City Public Schools. She majored in Fashion Design at Baltimore City Community College. While not a practicing member, Michele was nationalized in the Moorish Science Temple of America. Michele, passionately, believed in the teachings of Prophet Noble Drew-Ali, which emphasized Love, Truth, Peace, Freedom, and Justice. She bade goodbye on August 29, 2017 at the age of 63 years old after a lengthy illness.
Michele was loving, caring, giving, nurturing, and creative. Her favorite pastime was sewing, which is how she expressed her creativity. She took great pride in creating custom designs for her loved ones. She was extremely protective of her children whom were very important to her. She spent priceless moments with her grandchildren playing games, watching movies, eating popcorn, and cooking. Whew! She could make a mean egg salad sandwich.
Sissy was a devoted and loving mother whose primary mission in life was to raise children who possessed strong family values. As a single mother, she encouraged her children to put forth their best efforts as she understood the importance of academic success. Although her primary job was a stay at home mom, she was also a significant contributor to high education operations through her service at Coppin State College. She also, collaborated with non-profit organizations to organize and implement programs to teach school aged children how to sew.
Michele was preceded in death by her husband, the love of her life, Randolph Scott, Sr.; her mother, Viola Elizabeth Clay; the only father she knew, James Clay Sr.; and two brothers, Tyrone Walter Kent, Sr. and Milburn Kent.
Sissy leaves to cherish her memory two daughters, Antoinette Alfreda Kent (Gary) and Juanita Denee' Ashby Bey, PhD (Eric); her son Randolph Scott, Jr., MEd (Leontye); her nine grandchildren, Myron, Jasmine, Ebony, Maranda, Randolph III, Khari, Kai, Mariama, and Kendra; four great-grandchildren; three sisters, Carol Bernadette Kent, Debra Gilda Sullivan, and Dorothy Victoria Clay; one brother, Mishael Elohim Ali-El; a devoted friend, Carol Arnetta Brooks; two uncles, Leroy Winston Kent (Joanne) and John Lewis Campbell (Anne); and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and family.
Michele's big heart and generosity will be greatly missed by all those whose lives she touched. Her passion, beauty, and strength will be forever cherished.
