Obituary

Melissa (Farmsville) Henry was born on July 02, 1952 in Baltimore Maryland to the late Essex Farmsville and Ethel L. (Pitchford) Farmsville.  She departed this life on June 07, 2015. Her Christian life started many years ago where she became a faithful servant to God. She soon then was united in Holy Matrimony to Albert Henry. She was a devoted wife.

Melissa attended the Baltimore City Public School System and graduated from Paul Lawrence Dunbar High School with Honors. She later attended Coppin State College where she majored in Business. She had a vast amount of jobs, from being a mom to two great kids: Chante and Dameon to a Court Stenographer, a receptionist and the list goes on. She was such a great entrepreneur that she decided to move her family to North Carolina where she opened up three businesses, a fish market,    a used clothing store and a store bus, which made the North Carolina people say, "Wow, what is that?" and she responded with, "This is from my Baltimore Roots," with a smile.

Melissa was the apple of everyone's eye that came in contact with her. The minute she entered the room, she gave of a type of auro that she could only do. She was the life of the party. She enjoyed reading Bible Scriptures as well as quoting them. She totally loved her daughter, grandkids, great grandkids and the rest of her family. To know her was to love her. She had an (agape) love, which means she loved you unconditionally. Her daughter, deceased son, grandkids and great grandkids were the love of her heart. The final moments of her live, she spent with her daughter, Chanta, her granddaughter, Chantiera and her niece, Emelda.

Melissa was preceded in death by her son, Dameon J. Henry.

She leaves to cherish her memory: her husband, Albert Henry; her daughter, Chanta Kendall; her son-in-law, Torie Kendall; four (4) grandkids, Chantiera, Travon, Chaunise and Corie; nine (9) great grandkids; two (2) brothers, Johns and Edward Pitchford; two (2)  sisters-in-law, Virginia Burrell of Winston Salem, NC and Barbara Harvey; three (3) brothers-in-law, Stanley and William Henry of Baltimore, MD and Dr. M. Burrell of Winston Salem, NC and a host of nieces and nephews.
