Lorraine Agnes Eldridge was born on January 30, 1939, in Hanover, Maryland to the late Edna Dailey and Williams Matthews. Lorraine passed away peacefully with her family by her beside on June 2, 2026. She will be remembered for the kindness, strength and love she shared with her family and friends.
Lorraine attended Anne Arundel County Public Schools and graduated from the Historic Wiley H. Bates High School in Annapolis, Maryland as a member of the Class of 1957.
A lifelong member of St. Mark United Methodist Church, Lorraine was one of the original members of the Starlight Choir. The choir later became known as the Bertina Randal Choir in honor and memory of Bertina’s passing.
Lorraine dedicated 33 years of service to Nevamar before retiring. Following her retirement, she continued to serve others through her volunteer work at Maryland Live Casino beginning in 2012, generously giving her time and talents until her health no longer allowed her to continue.
Lorraine married the late Richard Eldridge on February 28, 1959. This union was blessed with three children, Terry (preceded in death), Sherry and Tershea. She was also blessed with two bonus sons, Rev. Kevin and Keven. Lorraine also played a significant role in the upbringing of her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She leaves to cherish her memories; her heartbroken daughters, Sherry (Mark) and Tershea (Robert); her bonus sons, Rev. Kevin (Patricia), and Keven; sister, Dorothy Dailey; brother, Sterling Dailey; grandchildren, Tanesha, Sarah, David, Jamie, Tishay, Earl (Kierra), Kevin, Jr. (Jasmine), Brandon (Bianca), Alyssa, Daon (Mariah), NaTayia, NaTeshea and Tamiyah; great grandchildren, Rejuan, Ronnie, Rikkai, Avion, Davien, Omaree, Omirrah, Carter, Brianna, Lamar, Madison, Caden, Earl, Eli, Amari, Makenzie, Morgan, Randi, and Xavier; sister/brother in laws, John, Margaret, Coleman (Suzanne), Donald, Inez (Frank), Catherine, Audrey, and Mary; godsons, Julius Jones and Darryl Dailey and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and special cousins, Hilda Hebron and Emma Hebron.
