La'Shelle Renee' Queen, known as "Shelly" to family and friends, passed away on Sunday, May 31, 2020 at her residence in Glen Burnie, MD. Born on August 20, 1980, she was 39 years old and the eldest daughter of Ron Queen and Gail Burgess. Bold, beautiful, passionate and a sweetheart, Shelly, grew up in Columbia, MD, and in 1998, was in the first graduating class of the newly created Long Reach Tech Magnet High School. She went on to matriculate at the Baltimore Studio of Hair Design in the field of cosmetology and earned certificates in dental hygiene, bartending and massage therapy. She was extremely talented in makeup and hair design and could be counted on to assist family and friends with their cosmetic undertakings. Her favorite brand was Rihanna's Fenty Beauty. Shelly's friendliness and warmth also led her into the field of hospitality where she worked at various venues throughout the area, her last being Texas Roadhouse in Columbia, MD. She could be found there "cutting up", making everyone laugh and their shifts a little more enjoyable. When it came to food, her favorite was chicken. She would say, "no pork on my fork and no swine on my time". Shelly loved to laugh, and she could find humor in the silliest thing, and the next thing you know, everyone would be doubled over in laughter. She could also be found rooting for the Pittsburgh Steelers and listening to her favorite group Jodeci or artist Beyonce'. That's why you loved being around her. She made every interaction a good time. Most of all, above everything, Shelly loved her kids. She was a fierce protector and loyal advocate for them. Any infraction against them, and you just might "catch those hands".  Her pet pit bull King "Kingys" was her 5th baby. Shelly is survived by her loving children Adrain, Dominick, Anaya and Shawna; partner Katie Bradley; parents Ron Queen (Ella) and Gail Burgess (Jed); Grandparents Cleveland and Betty Hall; Brother D'Andre' Queen; Niece Shianne; Grandniece Renezmae; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, relatives and friends. Shelly was preceded in death by her brother Ron David Queen, Jr. and Grandparents Beatrice and John Queen.
