O bituary

"The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want. Psalm 23:1"

On Friday, July 3, 2015, Jerry Matthew Creek quietly departed this life and went to be in the presence of his creator. He is gone and his journey on earth is complete

Jerry Matthew Creek was born on April 3, 1954 to the late Dorothy Virginia Green Creek and John Vernon Creek. He was the 7 th out of 8 children; one brother, Vernon Edward Creek (Shorty as he was known preceded him in death. Jerry was a devoted and loving brother who especially enjoyed social gatherings on holidays and special events with his family.

He was educated in the Anne Arundel County Public School Systems. When Jerry attended Pumphrey Elementary School he usually had a very special seat in the classroom, "besides the teacher's desk."    Jerry became a member of St. John United Methodist Church in Pumphrey in 2011. Jerry was rehearsing to sing with the Reunion Choir 1 st Anniversary.

As well, he was an avid sports lover at heart. His favorite teams were the Baltimore Orioles, Washington Wizards, and the Baltimore Ravens.

Jerry carried himself with a gentle kindness and would greet you with a smile and say hello. He was well liked by neighbors and friends in the neighborhood. Whenever anyone in the neighborhood needed a helping hand with anything he was always ready to render his services. Also Jerry was a very independent individual and made sure everyone knew it, by saying, "What kind of games are playing?", "I'm a man and I can take care of myself!", "You know what I mean!!!", and "I got this!!!."

He will be remembered as a family oriented man who did his best to support his family in any and all of their initiatives and efforts. However, there were times where he was deserving of a break and he was rewarded with a complimentary trip (He went away on vacation). After returning from vacation, he     enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Most importantly, he enjoyed life and gave his al to his commitments.

Jerry leaves to cherish his precious memories, five (5) sisters, Doris Revell (Norton), Joyce Creek Martin, Marcella Creek Wynn, Margie Alice Creek and Vernette Faith Creek Foy (Eugene); one (1) brother, Thomas Denis Creek (Vivian); Nieces, Jody, Yvette, Pat, Teresa, Rhonda, Marla, Verron and Henrietta; Nephews, Derek, Scott, Dwayne, Norton, Jeszara Thomas C., Thomas G., Andre, Joe, Alex, Chris, and Aaron and a host of many great and great-great nieces, nephews relatives and friends. Special friends Pete Gayles and Eric James.
