Obituary

James Arthur "Hop" Brown, son of loving proud parents, Laccie Cartel Brown, Sr. and Cammie Brown was born on September 5th, 1951 and was called to his Heavenly home on March 20th, 2023 after a lengthy ill- ness.

Arthur had a wonderful fulfilling life. He grew up in Turner's Station and attended and graduated from Dun- dalk Senior High School and loved to play baseball and basketball. He later attended the Community Col- lege of Baltimore City where he majored in Business and then later attended RETS Electronic School in Bal- timore, MD.

In his youth, Arthur accepted Christ and became a member of Greater Saint John Baptist Church in Turner's Station. He served on the Usher Board and Choir. While there, he was selected for the "Man of The Year Award" and it was well deserved. Arthur had an interesting array of positions during his life and held these positions at Baltimore Box Factory, Western Electric, G. Heileman Brewing Company, Sweetheart Cup Company and was a Government Con- tractor for Northrop Grumman-Aerospace as a Security Guard. He also held another position while there as a Maintenance Engineer.

In 1985 Arthur met the love of his life Yvonne Angela Booth at his Mama's house. From there, they became inseparable. Into this relationship their children were added, Felecia, JaJuan and Pierre. On February 22nd 2014 Arthur and Angie were united in Holy Matrimony and became as one. Several years later they both became members of Timothy Baptist Church .

Arthur was a devoted Husband, Father, Brother, Grandfather and Uncle. Anyone who knew Arthur knew how serious he could be about life, family, politics, work ethics, education and his home. He was a loving, caring and giving person and loved his family. He was knowledgeable about life and he would offer advice when having a conversation with you. As much as he was serious about life, he was also loved music, danc- ing and playing spades and he and Angie would both go out and enjoy their love of it. To know him was to love him.

At the age of 69 Arthur retired from Safe Guard due to his health issues. Because of his declining health, he was admitted into the hospital and later was transferred to St. Elizabeth Nursing Home where he remained until God Called him home.

Arthur was preceded in death by his Father, Laccie Cartel Brown, Sr., Mother, Cammie Brown, Brother, Lacey Brown, Jr., and Sister, Emma Ellis. Sister-In Law, Marlene Brown.
