Hazel Lee Williams Johnson Bolden was born on December 31, 1934. She was the ninth of ten children born to the late John Perkins Williams and the late Fannie Lee Jones Williams. After complications from a stroke, she fought a heroic fight, she transitioned the morning of January 20, 2021 at her home.

Hazel was born and raised in Anne Arundel County Maryland and received her education at Queenstown Elementary School and Wiley H. Bates High School in Annapolis, Maryland.

Hazel's first husband Thurlow Johnson preceded her in death. Hazel started her working career at Carlise Glass Company. After leaving Carlise Glass, she gained employment at Ft. George G. Meade. There Hazel would meet her "Knight in Shining Armor" Quentin Rondell Bolden.

Hazel and Ron or Q as he is affectionately known were united in holy matrimony on April 25, 1975 and from this union Hazel acquired her daughter, Yolanda. Yolanda gave birth to Quentin Markee and Hazel happily became a grandmother.

Being a wife of a military service member, Hazel would spend four years (1975-1978) in Germany and acquired some lifetime friendships. After returning from Germany, she returned to work at Ft. Meade. Hazel retired from Ft. Meade in December 1989.

Hazel was reared in a Christian home and accepted Christ into her life at an early age. Early in her childhood to Adult she attended Metropolitan United Church and would become a lifelong member. Over the years Hazel served in various roles including SPRC, Finance, Senior Chorus and the United Methodist Women.
