IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Cyenthea E
Singleton
May 7, 1952 – June 26, 2014
Obituary
"A Planting of the Lord" Isiah 61:3
Cyenthea Elizabeth Singleton
Cyenthea Elizabeth Singleton, was born in Baltimore City, Maryland to the late Hattie Miller of Greensboro, N.C. and the late Fred Singleton of Charlotte, S.C.
Cyenthea attended the Baltimore City Public School System. Upon leaving school she became very interested in the care of children and became well known for this.
The saying was if you want great child care, get Cyenthea. Also she had a knack for excellent housekeeping skills and between these skills was able to develop contractual agreements for her services.
Cyenthea has been involved in all of her nieces and nephew growth and development. Nurses and Doctors from the Johns Hopkins Medical Center sort after her for her skills in both areas. Cyenthea was also naturally gifted to style hair. While never attending school for this, she had her own clientele who only wanted Cyenthea to do their hair. Cyenthea was admired and well liked by her friends not only because she did excellent work, but because she could be trusted with their deepest secrets. With all of this activity Cyenthia was a very private person.
Cyenthea received Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior in the year 2000 at the Word Alive Christian Center. In attending church she was able to come to a greater understanding of her Christian walk. We know that Cyenthea was a private person, but when she received Christ she wanted her friends to receive his love as well. As she became stronger in her walk she realized the power of prayer and again wanted her friends to know this as well. She wanted them to walk on higher grounds.
While going through her belongings and preparing her Homegoing Service we came across her diary. As private as she was I don't think she would mind if we shared this with her family and friends. As follows, May 23, 2000:
"I spoke to a friend today. He needs to let the Lord in his life. I have prayed to God to help him get his house back into his hands so that he can see that life is worth living for the Lord. He must see the truth in God's words".
Cyenthea prayed for her friends even as she herself was going through a series of illness that she never fully recovered. Cyenthea now has been called to higher grounds leaving family and friends.
Cyenthea, was proceeded in death by her parents, Hattie Miller of Greensboro, N.C. and Fred Singleton of Charlotte, S.C. and one sister,
Cyenthea is survived by, two sisters, Bernice Singleton and Emma Flowers; one brother-in-law, Roscoe Flowers; four nieces, Charade Glaster (Edward Glaster), Kira Robinson, Kesha Robinson, Tamira Singleton; three nephews, Anwar Robinson, Amin T. Flowers and Garris Singleton; three great nieces, Shakira Bailey, Mikira Boyer and Alexandria E. Flowers; nine great nephews, Kenneth Andrews, Korey Andrews, Kristian Andrews, Kaleb Andrews, Rudy Miales, William Bailey, Joanathan Bailey, Amin I.
