IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Byron L
Hill
August 31, 1974 – August 20, 2020
Byron Linwood Hill
Byron L. Hill, age 45 of Pumphrey, Maryland went home to be with the Lord Thursday, 20 August 2020. He was a welcomed and blessed gift to his loving parents Shirley and Linwood on 31 August 1974. He was the first born of three beloved children. He was a gifted student and attended North County High School earning high honors in Science, Math and Art. He was an artist that skillfully worked to sharpen his craft and his sketches were amazing. He incorporated art into his barbering skills. He was employed by several companies prior to the decline in his health due to Multiple Sclerosis. Until his last breath, he never complained about his condition. He loved his son Cortez (Corey) and would often share his hopes and dreams for him. The mere mention of his name would cause him to light up a room with his smile.
Byron accepted Jesus Christ and was a member of Community Baptist Church. He was loved by many and will be sorely missed. He had a heart of gold, would give anyone his last, possessed a peaceful spirit, was compassionate, a loving and gentle soul, a true and dependable friend, positively affected many people in his lifetime, loved music, a human calculator, and knew practically every insect and mammal. He was affectionately nicknamed "Butter Roll" by his uncles and his cousin Esther fondly nicknamed him "Nature Boy" because of his love of nature, animals and pets. He owned several turtles, toads and snakes including an Albino Boa. The family dog Shaq would follow him everywhere.
Byron is survived by his son, Cortez N. Hill, his parents Shirley and Linwood McCormick, sisters Davon and Nieya McCormick, nephews Dasun Wilmore, Keon Lee, Jr., niece Brooke L. Vaughn, godmother Mrs. Priscilla (Petie) Graves, several aunts, uncles and a host of cousins. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Mary and Lloyd Hill, Bertha and William McCormick, uncles Lloyd Hill, Rodney Hill, Michael Hill, Adis and John Jennings and several cousins.
Byron's loving spirit, humor, compassion, artistic abilities and love of his son Cortez, parents and family will be greatly missed.
Family Tributes
I'm Free Author Unknown
Don't grieve for me for now I'm free, I'm following the path God laid for me. I took His hand when I heard Him call: I turned my back and left it all. I could not stay another day To laugh, to love, to work or play. Tasks left undone must stay that way; I found my place at the close of day. If my parting has left a void Then fill it with remembered joys. A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss, Ah yes, these things I too shall miss. Be not burdened with times of sorrow: I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow. My life's been full, I savored much; Good friends, good times, a loved one's touch. Perhaps my life seemed all too brief: Don't lengthen it now with undue grief. Lift up your heart and share with me; God wanted me now, He set me free.
Lovingly submitted ~ Mommy and Dad So Go and Run Free Author unknown
So go and run free with the angels Dance around the golden clouds For the Lord has chosen you to be with Him And we should feel nothing but proud
Although He has taken you from us And our pain a lifetime will last Your memory will never escape us But make us glad for the time we did have
Your face will always be hidden Deep inside our hearts Each precious moment you gave us Shall never, ever depart
You are forever in my heart, your son Corey God Saw You Getting Tired Author Unknown
God saw you getting tired, When a cure was not to be. So He wrapped His arms around you, and whispered, "Come to Me." You didn't deserve what you went through, So He gave you rest. God's garden must be beautiful, He only takes the best. And when I saw you sleeping, So peaceful and free from pain I could not wish you back To suffer that again.
Lovingly submitted ~ Davon, Nieya, Dasun, Keon and Brooke
Do Not Stand at My Grave and Weep By Mary Elizabeth Frye
Do not stand at my grave and weep I am not there; I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow, I am the diamond glints on snow. I am the sun on ripened grain, I am the gentle autumn rain. When you awaken in the morning's hush I am the swift uplifting rush Of quiet birds in circled flight. I am the soft stars that shine at night. Do not stand at my grave and cry. I am not there, I did not die. We miss you and love you.
Your Aunties ~ Karen H. and Sharon T. Silent Tear Author Unknown
Each night we shed a silent tear, As we speak to you in prayer. To let you know we love you, And just how much we care. Take our million teardrops, Wrap them up in love, Then ask the wind to carry them, To you in heaven above.
