Anthony Morris Carr, Sr.

(November 13, 1959-March 13, 2022)

Anthony Morris Carr, Sr., 62, of Annapolis, Maryland transitioned from this life on Sunday, March 13, 2022.  He was born at The Anne Arundel General Hospital in Annapolis, Maryland on November 13, 1959 to the late Fulton Isaiah Carr, Sr. and Virginia Lee Hunt Carr Turner.  Anthony was the fourth of five children.  At an early age, he accepted Christ and was baptized at Asbury Broadneck United Methodist Church.

Anthony was educated in the Anne Arundel County School System.  He attended Parole Elementary School, Bates Middle School, and Annapolis High School, where he was a member of the football and wrestling teams.  While playing football, he earned the nickname, Bear.   After receiving his high school diploma in 1978, he matriculated at Anne Arundel Community College and obtained an Associate of Arts in Criminal Justice.

Anthony Morris Carr, Sr. was joined in marriage with Tammy Denise Scott and from their union there is one child, Anthony Morris Carr, Jr.  He was employed by the Maryland State Department of General Services for over 30 years.  Anthony retired from the Maryland State Department in April 2016.  Anthony was a classic car enthusiast and his love for the Oakland Raiders were undeniable.

Anthony was preceded in death by his father, Fulton Isaiah Carr, Sr., his mother, Virginia Lee Hunt Carr Turner, his stepfather, James Vernon Turner, Sr. and mother-in-law, Edna Walker Scott.

Those left to cherish Anthony's memory are his wife, Tammy Scott and son, Anthony Morris Carr, Jr. of Annapolis, Maryland; one sister, Virginia (Janey) Carr-Mack and three brothers, Charles Allen, Fulton I. Carr, Jr., and Clyde Carr, Sr. (Anita) of Annapolis, Maryland;  stepmother, Peggy Carr; two step-sisters, Sharon Aytch-Harris (Marvin) and Twana D. Aytch-Armstead; three step-brothers, Denard L. Aytch (Kathy), Preston T. Aytch  (Cheryl), and Ray Aytch (Valencia); one uncle, Furman Carr (Linda) of Severna Park, Maryland; one goddaughter, Olivia Panton of Hanover, Maryland and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and friends who will greatly miss him.
